Santa Cruz, Bolivia, is positioning itself to host the 2027 Copa Sudamericana final, a prospect that promises substantial economic benefits for the region. Reyes Antelo, Sports Director for the Departmental Government of Santa Cruz, highlighted the potential influx of foreign fans as a major economic driver.

Antelo confirmed that a clear roadmap is in place to bring the Ramón ‘Tahuichi’ Aguilera stadium up to the required standards by March 2027. While some improvements, particularly to the playing field, have already been made, considerable work remains. The government is committed to coordinating efforts across different departments and with the Bolivian Football Federation to meet CONMEBOL's stringent requirements.

There is obviously much more to do, but we already have a plan to continue and be ready for this final, which is very important for our country.

The recent inspection by a CONMEBOL commission, including former player Nery Pumpido, assessed the stadium's current condition and identified areas needing improvement. The successful hosting of the final would mark a significant achievement for Santa Cruz and Bolivia.
