Bolivian police launch 'Plan Z' to find suspect in Tarija youth murder

Police in Tarija, Bolivia, have launched "Plan Z," a comprehensive search protocol, to apprehend the individual responsible for the fatal shooting of a young man. The victim, identified as 28-year-old Nicolás Alejandro Antezana Guzmán, was walking in the Las Panosas neighborhood when he was shot in the head from behind with a .22 caliber firearm. The director of the Special Force to Combat Crime (Felcc), Raúl Terrazas, confirmed that all units are mobilized, with controls set up at bus terminals and other key locations as part of the operation.

While several motives are being investigated, authorities are working to clarify the circumstances surrounding the violent death. The departmental prosecutor, José Ernesto Mogro, stated that the victim suffered a violent death from a gunshot wound while walking and being followed by the assailant. "We have worked all night in different investigative groups, and they continue to carry out actions to support or rule out hypotheses," Mogro declared.

Investigators have seized the victim's mobile phone for forensic analysis and are interviewing witnesses, family, and friends to gather crucial information. Antezana Guzmán's remains are being held at the El Remanso Cemetery chapel, with burial scheduled for Wednesday. The investigation aims to swiftly bring the perpetrator to justice.
