Bolivian President Calls for Unity in National Management, Cites Culture's Role

Bolivian President Rodrigo Paz has called for a unified approach to national governance, urging mayors, governors, and ministers to set aside political disagreements and focus on managing the country. Speaking at the traditional Entrada del Señor Jesús del Gran Poder festival in La Paz, which drew thousands of dancers and devotees, Paz underscored the role of culture in fostering national unity.

"Culture unifies, culture heals. Let's use culture to heal ourselves. Sometimes everything is very negative. Culture, culture and positive, positive to move forward with the entire homeland," the president stated, thanking national and subnational authorities for their presence. He emphasized that cultural events serve as a platform to strengthen coexistence among Bolivians.

Paz also referenced his recent visit to San Ignacio de Velasco, Santa Cruz, where a significant international road corridor agreement was signed with Brazil. He revealed that a substantial group of Brazilian investors expressed keen interest in investing in both eastern and western Bolivia, noting a business meeting that represented the most important in decades, with companies showing interest in investing $55 billion.

To attract such investments, Paz stressed the importance of creating favorable conditions through appropriate regulatory frameworks and coordinated management across all levels of government. He viewed the joint presence of national and subnational authorities at the festival as a positive signal of a "new format of managing, not politics, of managing the country."
