Bondar and Korpatsch to contest WTA Hamburg final

Anna Bondar and Tamara Korpatsch are set to face off in the WTA Hamburg women's singles final. The championship match will feature two players vying for a significant title in their careers.

Bondar, the Hungarian player, emerged victorious after a grueling three-hour and 17-minute semifinal battle against Elina Avanesyan of Armenia. The final score saw Bondar win with sets of 7-6 (3), 4-6, 7-6 (2).

Korpatsch, a native of Hamburg, had a considerably easier path to the final. Her Egyptian opponent, Mayar Sherif, was forced to retire from their semifinal match due to a leg injury when Korpatsch was leading 6-1, 2-0. This retirement secured Korpatsch's spot in the final.

For the 29-year-old Bondar, this is her second appearance in a WTA Tour final. Notably, her previous final was also in Hamburg last year, where she was defeated by Lois Boisson of France. The 31-year-old Korpatsch is reaching her third career final. She secured her sole title in Cluj three years ago and was a finalist in Ostrava earlier this year, losing to Katie Boulter of Great Britain.
