Boniface, Chukwueze, Adams shine as Nigerians set Europe aglow ahead of new season

Nigerian footballers are making a significant impact across Europe as the new season approaches, with several stars showcasing impressive form. Akor Adams, Samuel Chukwueze, and Victor Boniface were among the prominent figures who delivered memorable performances for their respective clubs, generating excitement ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Akor Adams enjoyed a spectacular competitive debut for Venezia in the Coppa Italia, scoring two goals and providing an assist to inspire a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory against Modena. The striker, who recently joined Venezia, immediately justified his transfer by playing a direct role in all three of his team's goals. After Modena took the lead, Adams equalized before halftime. Though Modena regained the lead, Adams set up John Yeboah for the equalizer and then scored the winning goal himself with seven minutes remaining.

Samuel Chukwueze also delivered a performance to remember in a pre-season friendly, scoring once and providing two assists as AC Milan defeated Manchester United 4-2. The Super Eagles winger was instrumental in Milan's comeback after an early deficit. He equalized the score, then set up Alphadjo Cisse for Milan's second goal, and later provided another assist for Ramos to head the Italian side into the lead.

Victor Boniface was also on the scoresheet, netting a late winner for Bayer Leverkusen in their 2-1 friendly victory over Newcastle United at St James' Park. His decisive goal capped off a strong showing from the Nigerian forward.
