Bornova’s Historic Heritage Gains Global Recognition

Bornova Misket grapes are being promoted as a cultural and agricultural heritage of İzmir, with the local municipality pursuing a wider international profile for the product.

Lucien Arkas Vineyards in Torbalı has obtained the right to use the Bornova Misket Grape Geographical Indication logo. The designation links the vineyard’s production to the locally recognized grape heritage.

Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki visited the vineyards and presented Monreve Group founder Merve Arkas with a certificate of appreciation. The visit marked the municipality’s continued support for efforts to bring Bornova’s heritage to a global audience.
