Bosnia and Herzegovina Goalkeeper Nikola Hadžikić Injured in Warm-up, World Cup Hopes Uncertain

Nikola Hadžikić, a goalkeeper for the Croatian club Slaven Belupo and a representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, sustained an injury during the warm-up session at halftime of a match against North Macedonia. The game ended in a goalless draw.

Hadžikić was preparing to enter the match to replace the starting goalkeeper, Martin Zlomislić, and make his debut for the Bosnian national team when the injury occurred. He had to be carried off the field on a stretcher, which is a concerning sign regarding the severity of his condition.

Further medical examinations are pending to determine the extent of the injury. The results will dictate whether Hadžikić will be fit to play in the upcoming World Cup, which is now only about ten days away.
