Bosnian Citizens Left Child in Car at Poreč Mall, Passersby Called Emergency Services and Firefighters

A couple from Bosnia and Herzegovina faces criminal charges for child endangerment after leaving their young child locked in a car for nearly an hour at a shopping center parking lot in Poreč. The incident occurred on August 10 around 18:15. Passersby alerted authorities when they noticed the child inside the vehicle, with windows closed, appearing undressed and sweating. Emergency services and firefighters were called to the scene. The parents returned to the car just as emergency responders arrived and unlocked the vehicle. Authorities stated that the child was examined and found to be in good health. The Istrian police issued a warning to citizens, emphasizing the severe risks, including potential death or serious health consequences, of leaving children unattended in vehicles. With a heatwave forecast for the week, police cautioned that even brief periods in a hot car can lead to tragic outcomes.
