BOSS Loosens the Rules of Tailoring for Its Fall-Winter Collection

BOSS is relaxing the boundaries of formalwear for fall and winter, pairing its familiar sharp tailoring with softer shapes and richly textured materials. The German brand presented its new men’s and women’s collections on Sept. 1.

The palette stays grounded in earthy tones, including birch, oat, caramel brown and dark oak. Wool, cashmere, alpaca and leather give the collection a seasonal feel, while reworked stripes and checks add visual depth to traditional suiting.

For men, BOSS builds around its signature suit construction but widens the silhouettes and softens the business mood with fine knits and turtlenecks. Wool-blend suits combine single-breasted jackets with tapered trousers. An alpaca-blend coat uses a classic peak lapel and fitted shape, allowing it to layer over a suit or pair with knitwear and corduroy trousers.

Mixed materials bring another contrast. A suede jacket is fitted with cotton-blend knitted sleeves, setting the weight of leather against the softness of knitwear. A loose houndstooth wool coat uses a long, single-breasted cut to bring a restrained British character to winter dressing.

The women’s collection places clean tailoring beside soft, tactile fabrics. Defined shoulders, wide fluid trousers and high-neck layers create an elegant look without excessive formality. The Revers bag draws on the lapels of BOSS’s bespoke suits, with a V-shaped opening and a horizontal leather strip inspired by a belt. Featured looks include a white cashmere sweater with a caramel-brown lambskin skirt and a caramel suede Revers mini shoulder bag.
