Boy, 7, dies after beach tragedy that killed mum and daughter

A seven-year-old boy has died in hospital, days after being involved in a tragic incident at West Mersea beach in Essex where his mother and sister drowned. Musa Ahmed had been on a family day trip on July 22 when he and five relatives got into difficulty in the water.

While Musa was pulled from the sea and airlifted to the Royal London Hospital, Shelina Rahman, 41, and 15-year-old Sameeha died at the scene. His family announced his death on Tuesday evening, stating he passed away "in a state of ease and peace."

The group had traveled to the Essex coast from Ilford in east London. Three other relatives were taken to hospital by ambulance and are reported to be recovering. Musa's father, Shahin Ahmed, described the tide as "very strong" and said the family had made "significant efforts to help each other."
