De Carvalho observed that Brazilian clients often place a significant emphasis on the design and functionality of their home's exterior spaces. This includes a desire for well-appointed outdoor areas that can be used for various activities and relaxation.

However, she also highlighted a practical requirement that remains essential for her Brazilian clients: the inclusion of a dedicated laundry space, often referred to as a "tanque de roupa." This points to a blend of aesthetic desires for expansive outdoor living and the continued need for practical, domestic conveniences.
