BREAKING: Kano NDC gov candidate picks Kwankwaso’s son as running mate

Aminu Gwarzo, the Kano State governorship candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has selected Mustapha Kwankwaso as his running mate for the upcoming 2027 election. Mustapha is the son of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a prominent political figure and the National Leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement.

The decision, confirmed by Gwarzo's spokesperson Ibrahim Shuaibu, follows consultations with party stakeholders. Shuaibu stated that the selection aims to bolster the party's prospects in the general elections and consolidate its support base across Kano State. He described Mustapha Kwankwaso as a dedicated party member whose inclusion would further strengthen the Kwankwasiyya movement's influence within the NDC.
