BREAKING: Players, officials injured as Rivers United team bus crashes in P’Harcourt

Players and officials of Nigerian Premier Football League side Rivers United sustained minor injuries in a road accident on Thursday. The team was traveling to Awka, Anambra State, for their President’s Cup round of 16 fixture against Nasarawa United when the incident occurred.

The accident happened along the Obiri-Ikwerre Airport Road on the outskirts of Port Harcourt, shortly after the team departed from its camp. Rivers United confirmed the incident in a statement, emphasizing that while some individuals suffered minor injuries, there were no fatalities or life-threatening conditions reported. The club assured supporters and stakeholders that all affected individuals are receiving appropriate medical attention and are in stable condition.
