Brenda Gandini gets emotional watching footage of her television debut

Brenda Gandini struggled to hold back tears when a television program showed a clip from her first appearance on screen, in the youth hit Floricienta.

The 42-year-old actress appeared on Otro día perdido, hosted by Mario Pergolini. In the clip, she played Olivia, a distant cousin of the Fritzenwalden siblings who unexpectedly arrived at their home and captivated everyone with her beauty. When Pergolini asked whether she recognized herself, Gandini replied, “Yes, I’m going to cry.”

She said the footage brought back a time when acting felt like play. “I see myself there, so naive and so much fun. So open,” she said. Gandini recalled that she did not understand at the time what Floricienta would mean in her life or what it meant to work with Cris Morena. She later realized how much she had learned by entering the profession at an age when she was receptive to new experiences.

Gandini also remembered the scale of the show’s success. The cast toured Latin America the following year, performing in front of stadium crowds of up to 12,000 people. She said she was glad she had not fully understood the magnitude of those moments, because she experienced them as if she were simply going out to play, sing and dance with her fellow performers.

The actress then revealed an uncomfortable memory from the same period. During her first kiss with Benjamín Rojas, she felt part of his tooth break and land on her tongue, but continued filming because she did not want to stop the scene. She said she was too embarrassed to tell him and instead planned to visit a dentist. Rojas later told her he had never realized what happened.
