Brian Hickerson, the intermittent partner of the late actress Hayden Panettiere, has broken his silence following her sudden death at age 36. His lawyer, Sloan Ellis, released a statement emphasizing the ongoing investigation into Panettiere's passing.

"The death is still under investigation and it is important to allow said investigation to proceed," Ellis told TMZ on Thursday. He added that police had confirmed no initial signs of foul play. "Out of respect for Hayden's loved ones and the ongoing investigation, we will not be making further comments at this time," the lawyer stated.

Panettiere was found unresponsive in a Greenville, South Carolina, apartment on Sunday, August 16th. Reports indicate that Brian Hickerson's brother, Zack Hickerson, discovered her while Brian was reportedly asleep in another room. Initial examinations of Panettiere's body revealed no signs of trauma that could have contributed to her death.
