Bridge Football Group becomes new owner of Grasshoppers

Grasshopper Club Zürich, a historic Swiss football club, is under new ownership. Bridge Football Group Switzerland AG has acquired the club from Los Angeles FC, marking another change in ownership after just two and a half years.

The new owners, an investment group led by Swiss lawyer Ludovic Deléchat and financed by Chinese backers, acknowledge the responsibility that comes with managing such an institution. Their stated goal is to build a stable, sustainable, and competitive future for the club while preserving its identity, values, and traditions.

This transition comes after a period of struggle for Grasshoppers. The club, a record champion in Switzerland, narrowly avoided relegation in each of the past three seasons via playoff matches. This performance led to fan dissatisfaction and ultimately prompted the sale by LAFC, which had taken over the Zurich-based club in January 2024.
