Brigadier General Marciu Lucian-Dumitru Appointed Acting Inspector General of IGSU for Six Months

Brigadier General Marciu Lucian-Dumitru will temporarily lead the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) for the next six months. His appointment fills the vacant position of Inspector General, a role he will undertake with extensive experience in the field.

Lucian-Dumitru has been a key figure in emergency services since 2003, beginning his career within the fire structures of Brașov county. He has steadily advanced through various leadership roles, including station commander, deputy section commander, detachment commander, section commander, and first deputy chief inspector of ISU Brașov. Since 2019, he has served as the chief inspector for the Brașov County Emergency Situations Inspectorate "Țara Bârsei."

His professional background includes a solid academic foundation, graduating from the "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" Police Academy's Faculty of Firefighters in 2003 with a specialization in fire protection installations for construction. He furthered his education by completing a master's degree in "Emergency Situation Management" from the same institution in 2009.

Throughout his career, Lucian-Dumitru has participated in numerous specialized courses and training programs. These cover critical areas such as emergency situation management, forest fire prevention and suppression, integrated response to mass casualty incidents and disasters, strategic management, crisis management, and leadership. Notably, he attended the "Continuity of Operations, Excellence Series – Level 1, Professional Continuity Practitioner" program in Emmitsburg, USA, in 2018, and completed the "Strategic Management of Internal Affairs" program in 2020.
