Brighton set to sign Croatian defender Luka Vušković for over €53 million

Brighton & Hove Albion is on the verge of a major transfer coup, agreeing to sign young Croatian defender Luka Vušković from Tottenham. Vušković, 19, arrived at Tottenham last summer from Hajduk Split for around 11 million euros. Despite his high potential, he has yet to make an official appearance for the London club. He has spent time on loan, first at Belgian club Westerlo and then at Polish side Radomiak, seeking valuable playing experience.

He made 30 appearances across all competitions, scoring six goals and earning a spot in the league's best XI. This impressive form caught the attention of European clubs, and his market value, according to Transfermarkt, surged to 60 million euros, marking him as one of Europe's most sought-after young center-backs.

Tottenham reportedly rejected several offers for Vušković over the summer, but Brighton's persistent pursuit has now paid off. The Croatian international is currently with his national team in North America for the World Cup.
