Brighton sign defender George from Manchester United

Brighton & Hove Albion has secured the signing of defender Gabby George from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee. The 29-year-old joins the Women's Super League club after a three-season spell at United, during which she contributed to their FA Cup victory in 2024. George made a total of 54 appearances for Manchester United, including 24 in the previous season. Brighton's women's first-team head coach, Dario Vidosic, expressed enthusiasm for the signing, noting George's defensive versatility and technical quality on the ball as key assets that will enhance the team's playing style. George began her senior career at Everton in 2014, accumulating 126 appearances and scoring seven goals over nine years. She was instrumental in helping Everton achieve promotion to the top flight in 2017. Internationally, George has represented England at various youth levels before making her senior debut in 2018, earning three senior caps.
