Broadcasting Couple Son Bum-soo and Jin Yang-hye Become In-laws as Eldest Son Weds After 12-Year Romance

Veteran South Korean broadcasters Son Bum-soo and Jin Yang-hye are celebrating a new family milestone: they have become in-laws following their eldest son's wedding. The couple shared their joy and reflections on their son's marriage, which took place in March, during an appearance on the KBS 1TV program 'Achim Madang'.

Son, who has been married to Jin for 33 years, expressed his happiness at becoming a father-in-law. Jin revealed that their eldest son married his college sweetheart after a 12-year relationship. The couple met as freshmen at Yonsei University and maintained their relationship through exchange programs and even Son's three-year military service.

Jin humorously recalled advising her son to date other people before settling down, given her own limited dating experience and her brother's marriage to his first date. However, her son remained committed to his girlfriend, stating he wasn't the type to date multiple people. The couple also shared their son's wedding photos during the broadcast.

Reflecting on the wedding, Jin described the emotions as complex, a mix of gratitude, pride, and memories of their past. Son and Jin, who married in 1994, have two sons.
