Brook's rapid fifty powers Sunrisers Leeds to record Hundred score

Sunrisers Leeds shattered the record for the highest total in The Hundred men's competition, posting an astonishing 241-2 against London Spirit at Headingley. Opener Ryan Rickelton led the charge with an unbeaten 94 off 42 balls, while Harry Brook produced a sensational 15-ball fifty to propel the hosts to a new benchmark score.

The foundation for the record total was laid by Marsh and Rickelton, who forged a 148-run opening partnership. Brook then unleashed his destructive power, hitting five sixes and five fours. His rapid-fire half-century, combined with Rickelton's aggressive innings, saw Sunrisers Leeds surpass the previous highest team total of 226. The pair added 83 runs in just 32 balls for the second wicket, overwhelming the London Spirit bowlers.

In response, London Spirit's chase got off to a disastrous start as Jonny Bairstow was dismissed on the first ball. Despite the early collapse, former England all-rounder David Willey staged an admirable recovery, scoring an unbeaten 83 off 46 balls. However, his efforts were not enough as London Spirit finished on 204-6, falling 37 runs short of the target.

The victory propelled Sunrisers Leeds to fourth in the table, keeping their playoff hopes alive, while London Spirit remains in seventh place.
