Brothers of Italy Inspects Bus Line 2 at Night: 'No Difference Between Italians and Immigrants, Vehicles Must Be Safe for All'

Fratelli d'Italia (Brothers of Italy) party leaders conducted an overnight inspection of bus line 2 in Brescia, focusing on passenger safety and security. The inspection, which ran from 7 PM to 00:30 AM on Wednesday, covered the route from Pendolina to Chiesanuova, a path designated for a future tram line.

Party officials, including city secretary Carlo Andreoli, expressed concern over recent incidents of violence and degradation on public transport. They stressed that violence should be condemned universally, irrespective of whether perpetrators are Italian or foreign-born. The party aims to ensure a livable city for everyone by distinguishing between rule-abiding citizens and those who commit crimes.

Fratelli d'Italia has proposed three concrete measures to Mayor Laura Castelletti. First, they call for the isolation of driver cabins to prevent disruptions and potential accidents. Andreoli recalled an incident where a driver's control was compromised by an agitated passenger, leading to a crash.

Second, the party requests increased presence of local police officers on buses. If personnel are insufficient, they suggest employing private security guards, similar to practices in Verona. This increased presence, they argue, would deter misconduct and help combat fare evasion.

The party highlighted their hands-on approach to politics, contrasting it with what they termed the "caviar and champagne" lifestyle of the left. By riding the bus and observing conditions firsthand, Brothers of Italy seeks to address urban discomfort and ensure public transport becomes a safe space for all passengers.
