Bruno Fernandes wins 2025/26 Premier League Player of the Season award

Manchester United's Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes has earned the Premier League Player of the Season award for the 2025/26 campaign, recognizing his significant contributions to the team's performance.

The club announced the award on Saturday, highlighting Fernandes as a pivotal player in their achievement of a top-three finish and qualification for the UEFA Champions League under manager Michael Carrick. His individual statistics for the season include eight league goals and 20 assists.

Fernandes's 20 assists this season have matched the Premier League's single-season assist record, previously held jointly by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne. He has an opportunity to break this record in Manchester United's final league game against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The prestigious award was determined through a combined voting process involving fans and a panel of football experts. This latest accolade follows Fernandes's earlier recognition as Manchester United's Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year for the fifth time and the Football Writers' Association's Footballer of the Year. He was shortlisted alongside notable players such as Gabriel Magalhães, David Raya, Declan Rice, Erling Haaland, Antoine Semenyo, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Igor Thiago.
