Bruno Fernandes wins 2026 PFA Players' Player of the Year award

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named the 2026 Professional Footballers' Association Players' Player of the Year. The Portuguese midfielder received the prestigious honor after being voted the best player of the 2025/26 season by his peers.

The PFA announced the award Tuesday, with Fernandes triumphing over five other nominees in the men's category. These included Manchester City's Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki, and Arsenal's Declan Rice, David Raya, and Gabriel Magalhães.

Fernandes' individual campaign was remarkable, playing a key role in Manchester United's third-place Premier League finish and their return to the UEFA Champions League. He also set a record with 21 assists in the Premier League season. This recognition follows his earlier wins as the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year and the Premier League's Player of the Season.
