BTS's RM named global ambassador for National Museum of Korea

Kim Nam-joon, widely known as RM and the leader of the global music sensation BTS, is embarking on a new role as the global ambassador for the National Museum of Korea. The appointment aims to elevate the museum's international profile and promote the beauty and value of Korean cultural heritage both domestically and abroad.

The museum announced RM's appointment on November 20th, expressing anticipation for his contributions to its promotional activities. RM is expected to play a key part in introducing Korea's history and traditional culture to a wider audience.

As his first official engagement, RM visited the museum on November 19th to attend the special exhibition "Kim Hong-do: Painting the Era." Guided by Yoo Hong-joon, the museum's director, RM toured the exhibition, which focuses on the works of the renowned Joseon Dynasty painter.

To commemorate the appointment, the museum presented RM with a special edition cultural product: a miniature scroll of the "Map of the Great East" (Daedongyeojido), a significant historical map. Director Yoo expressed his delight, stating, "It is very meaningful to be able to share the beauty of our cultural heritage with the world through RM." He added, "We expect him to play a significant role in establishing the National Museum of Korea as a cultural space that is sought after and loved by people worldwide."
