Global music sensation BTS made history by performing at the inaugural halftime show of the 2026 North American World Cup final. The group took the stage at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, during the championship match between Spain and Argentina on Sunday, joining an elite lineup of international stars.

Following an orchestral rendition of "Seven Nation Army" led by Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the seven members of BTS appeared in a striking black, red, and white ensemble. They delivered a powerful performance of their hit song "Dynamite," a track that previously propelled them to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. For the occasion, BTS adapted some lyrics to include soccer-related phrases like "kick the ball" and "a game of football."

The halftime show, with Coldplay's Chris Martin serving as artistic director and produced by Global Citizen, aimed to raise awareness and funds for the "FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund." This initiative seeks to expand educational and soccer opportunities for underserved children worldwide, with a fundraising goal of $100 million. The event also featured performances by Madonna, Justin Bieber, and Shakira, culminating in a collaborative performance of Coldplay's "We Dance" with other artists and characters.
