Buca Municipality provides straw support to local producers

The Buca Municipality in Turkey has launched an initiative to support local livestock farmers struggling with economic challenges and escalating costs. The municipality distributed free straw bales, a byproduct of locally grown wheat, to farmers in the region's rural villages.

The wheat was cultivated on land generously donated to the municipality by a charitable family. After a successful harvest, the resulting wheat was processed into flour and distributed to families in need within the district. The remaining straw was then allocated to support the local agricultural community.

Buca Deputy Mayor Hüseyin Benzer highlighted the municipality's commitment to supporting producers and labor through solidarity. "With the strength of solidarity in Buca, we stand by those who produce and by labor," Benzer stated. "We continuously support our local producers with the municipality's own resources and production power."

Benzer emphasized that this initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on farmers, particularly during a period of rapidly increasing costs. "By donating the straw bales we harvested, we have further strengthened the bridges of solidarity between us," he said. "In this period of rapidly increasing costs, we have supported one of the biggest expense items for our producers with the straw bales we donated, lightening their load. We are one big family. As long as we act with the spirit of mutual aid and solidarity in Buca, there is no difficulty we cannot overcome! We will produce together, we will grow stronger together."
