Buenos Aires investigates alleged sexual abuse of 7-year-old at Villa Devoto school

Buenos Aires authorities are investigating a serious alleged sexual abuse case involving a 7-year-old girl at a special education school in the Villa Devoto neighborhood. The girl, who has autism and does not communicate verbally, was allegedly abused within the Escuela de Educación Especial y Formación Laboral N.º 3. Her family filed a complaint last Wednesday after discovering bruises on her intimate parts upon her return from school. The father recounted that initial signs of distress appeared earlier in the week when his daughter returned home with injuries. He stated that school authorities offered no explanation for the injuries. The family discovered the extent of the alleged abuse when changing her diapers at home, noticing bruises and a semen-like fluid. They immediately filed a police report and the girl was examined at Hospital Álvarez. The investigation is being handled by Juzgado Criminal y Correccional N.º 61, and the family is awaiting a "Cámara Gesell" interview, a special testimony process for minors. The incident has prompted protests outside the school, with parents demanding answers. The Ministry of Education has provided support to the girl and her family and is working with the Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents.
