Bulgarian Interior Ministry to Cut Staff, Prioritize Younger Officers

Bulgaria's Interior Ministry is set to implement staff reductions, focusing on positions currently occupied by pensioners to create opportunities for younger officers. Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev announced the planned cuts, emphasizing a strategic shift to invigorate the ministry's ranks with new talent.

Demerdzhiev explained that these measures are designed to address a bottleneck where older employees nearing retirement are occupying roles that could be advanced by aspiring younger cadres. The ministry aims to streamline its structure and ensure a more dynamic career path for its personnel.
