Bullet ricochets off wall, hitting man in head; condition critical

A man is in critical condition after a stray bullet hit him in the head in Turkey's northern Cide district. The incident occurred in Ağaçbükü village when a 59-year-old man, identified as K.Ö., fired a shotgun into the air from his home's window. Tragically, a bullet ricocheted off a building wall and struck a 45-year-old passerby, M.D., in the head.

Emergency services were immediately alerted by witnesses. Paramedics provided initial treatment to the injured man before transporting him to Kastamonu Education and Research Hospital. His condition remains critical, and he is currently fighting for his life. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

As part of the ongoing inquiry, local gendarmerie forces have detained K.Ö., the individual who fired the weapon. N.T., 55, identified as the owner of the shotgun, has also been taken into custody. The investigation is continuing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the ricochet shooting.
