Bus overturns in Los Cabos; accident kills three, injures 17

Three people died and 17 were injured when a bus transporting hotel workers overturned in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur. The accident occurred late Tuesday night on the transpeninsular highway near the Santa Anita zone in San José del Cabo.

The vehicle, a bus carrying hotel employees, collided with a private car. Emergency crews from municipal, state, and federal agencies, including the Red Cross and Navy, responded to the scene. Firefighters from San José del Cabo reported the crash happened around 10 p.m. local time.

Upon arrival, responders found the bus overturned on the side of the road and a white car with significant damage. The injured were taken to various hospitals in San José del Cabo. Two patients were classified as critical, while the others sustained serious injuries and are receiving medical attention.

The highway section was closed for several hours as emergency operations continued until midnight. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the accident. The Public Ministry is investigating the incident to establish the facts and assign responsibility.
