Bus plunges off expressway in Hanoi, killing four

A serious traffic accident occurred on the Pháp Vân expressway in Hanoi, Vietnam, when a passenger bus veered off the road and fell onto a service road, resulting in four fatalities. The incident happened around 12:20 AM on July 17, near the Hà Vỹ culvert in Chương Dương commune.

The 38-seat sleeper bus, operated by driver Nguyễn Văn Bình, was traveling from Nghệ An towards Hanoi with 32 passengers on board. It crashed through the expressway's guardrail and overturned on the service road below. The impact caused significant damage to the bus.

Emergency services, including police and fire rescue teams, responded to the scene. Three people died at the crash site, and a fourth succumbed to their injuries at a hospital. Several other passengers were injured and received medical treatment in Hanoi. Initial checks confirmed the driver, Mr. Bình, was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The investigation into the exact cause of the accident is ongoing.
