Bus services resume from Cochabamba to Santa Cruz after blockade lifted

Bus services from Cochabamba to Santa Cruz have been fully restored after protesters dismantled a roadblock in the municipality of Chimoré. The disruption had halted traffic for several hours on the crucial Cochabamba-Santa Cruz highway, leaving many passengers stranded.

Departures from the Cochabamba Bus Terminal resumed at midday on Thursday. By evening, travel was proceeding normally, with passengers eagerly boarding buses bound for Santa Cruz and other destinations in the country's eastern regions. The lifting of the protest measure allowed transport companies to recommence their operations.

The blockade had created significant congestion, with long queues of vehicles forming along the affected route. Dozens of passengers found themselves stranded as a result of the protest, highlighting the impact of such disruptions on regional connectivity.

Following the resolution of the blockade, the highway has been cleared, and the flow of traffic has returned to normal.
