Busan Democracy Park Hosts 'Democracy Seed Bundle' Exhibition

Busan Democracy Park is presenting a special exhibition, 'Democracy Seed Bundle Busan Exhibition,' running from July 19 to August 29. Hosted in collaboration with the Korea Democracy Foundation, the exhibition is held on the third floor of the Democracy Hall of Remembrance in Jung-gu, Busan.

The exhibition is rooted in the 'Democracy Seed Bundle' project, initiated during the preparation for the opening of the Democracy Hall of Remembrance at the former site of the Namyeong-dong Anti-Democracy Movement Hall in Seoul. It has been curated to reflect the democratic history and spatial context of Busan Democracy Park.

The title, 'Carried by the Wind,' signifies how democratic values are not confined to one place but travel between people, crossing regions and borders. The exhibition features 100 works by designers, illustrators, and visual artists from around the world, expressing the values of democracy, human rights, memory, and solidarity through diverse visual languages. These are complemented by democracy-related works from the park's collection, adding a local context connected to Busan's democratic history.

Busan Democracy Park stated, "Democracy is not a finished result but a process built on the accumulation of voices and solidarity. We hope this exhibition serves as an opportunity for citizens to encounter and discuss democracy without difficulty. We expect the exhibition to become a small seed that spreads back into citizens' daily lives." Admission to the exhibition is free.
