Business council and Congress launch National Digital Alliance to improve AI and cybersecurity regulation

Mexico’s business community and Congress have launched a new forum aimed at bringing legislators and technology companies into a permanent conversation about the country’s digital future.

The National Digital Alliance was created by the Business Coordinating Council, known as the CCE, through its High Technology Commission, together with the Union Congress. The group will exchange technical knowledge, business experience and international examples as lawmakers debate rules for the digital sector.

Its agenda covers artificial intelligence, digital finance, cybersecurity and data protection. It will also examine connectivity and infrastructure, the development of technology talent, and digital commerce. The stated goal is to help design policies that encourage investment and innovation while improving regulation.

CCE President José Manuel Mora presented the initiative as an opportunity extending beyond the technology industry. “Digitalization generates development and opens opportunities that, if we know how to take advantage of them through investment, will achieve the growth our country needs,” he said.

The council said digital transformation could also promote inclusion, competitiveness, technology skills and formal employment. The alliance is intended to provide an ongoing channel for cooperation between the public and private sectors.
