Ca Mau posthumously honors mothers and martyrs for national liberation sacrifices

The southern province of Ca Mau held a solemn ceremony on July 24 to posthumously award the title of Vietnamese Heroic Mother to four mothers and the Resistance Medal to eight martyrs. This honor recognizes their immense sacrifices and contributions during the nation's struggle for liberation.

During the event, Nguyen Minh Nhut, Director of the provincial Department of Home Affairs, provided a summary of the nominations for the Heroic Mother title and detailed the review process for the Resistance Medals. Provincial leaders then presented the Vietnamese Heroic Mother honor to the relatives of four mothers: Nguyen Thi Hang, Dinh Thi Le, Nguyen Thi Muoi, and Phan Thi Hien. Among these honorees, two mothers lost both a husband and a son as martyrs, while the other two lost two sons each.

Le Van Su, Vice Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee, stated that the current achievements of independence, peace, and development were bought with the great sacrifices of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and martyrs. He stressed that each awarded title is a sacred recognition by the Party, State, and people of their contributions. Su urged all levels and sectors to continue implementing policies for those with meritorious services, promote the "Repaying Gratitude" movement, mobilize resources to care for policy beneficiary families, and strengthen the education of revolutionary traditions for the younger generation.
