CAFWCLQ: Edo Queens face USFA for place in final

Edo Queens have reached the decisive stage of the WAFU-B qualifiers after scoring 11 goals in three matches, but their next opponent has matched attacking strength with a perfect defensive record.

The Nigerian champions will meet hosts USFA at Ouagadougou’s Stade du 4 Août on Wednesday. A victory would send Edo Queens into the zonal final and leave them one match away from a place at the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League finals.

Edo Queens began with a 7-0 win over Niger’s AS Garde Nationale and followed it with a 3-1 victory against Côte d’Ivoire’s ASEC Mimosas. They finished second in Group B after losing 2-1 to Ghanaian champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies, who topped the group with nine points.

USFA won both Group A matches, beating Benin’s Dynamique FC 3-0 and Togo’s ASKO de Kara 4-0. The Burkina Faso side have scored seven times without conceding, while home support will add pressure for the Nigerian champions. Chioma Moses and Oluwakemi Adegbuyi are expected to play key roles for Kennedy Boboye’s team.
