Cali DJ Robbed of Equipment After Surviving Violent Attack, Seeks Help

DJ Duty, a well-known artist from Cali's vibrant Calle del Sabor, survived a violent robbery that left him and his wife shaken but unharmed. The incident occurred early Saturday morning, June 20, as the couple was heading home after DJ Duty finished his set.

While driving through the San Antonio neighborhood, they were ambushed by several motorcyclists. The attackers forced them to the ground and physically assaulted them. During the attack, DJ Duty's professional DJ equipment, a computer, controller, and headphones, along with his iPhone and other personal items, were stolen. He estimates the total loss to be between six and seven million Colombian pesos.

The robbery was captured on security cameras, showing the aggressive manner in which the assailants surrounded and attacked the couple. DJ Duty expressed his outrage and highlighted the vulnerability of nighttime workers in Cali, stating that many of his colleagues have also been victims of similar crimes.

He is appealing to the public for help in recovering his stolen equipment, which is essential for his livelihood. DJ Duty also urged authorities to enhance security measures and surveillance during nighttime hours, particularly in areas frequented by entertainment workers. Despite the traumatic experience, he remains hopeful about recovering his gear and continuing to entertain the people of Cali.
