Camco sets regional benchmark with successful horizontal well completion in Libya

Camco Oil Services, in partnership with the Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO), has achieved a significant milestone by successfully drilling and completing a re-entry horizontal well in Libya's Sarir Field. This operation establishes a new regional benchmark for horizontal well drilling at comparable depths and reservoir targets.

The company reported that the project was completed ahead of schedule, with the crucial curve section and drain hole drilled in less than two weeks, setting a new regional record. The operation achieved 100% of the planned drain length and 100% reservoir contact, successfully meeting all geological and directional objectives. Furthermore, the operation maintained a clean Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) record throughout its execution.

Drilling performance, measured by the rate of penetration (ROP), significantly outperformed offset wells targeting the same reservoir interval. This success was attributed to the integration of advanced technologies, including Logging While Drilling (LWD), geosteering, and Reservoir Navigation systems, which enabled precise well placement and maximized reservoir exposure.

This achievement underscores the ongoing collaboration between Camco and AGOCO, reflecting their shared commitment to enhancing directional drilling performance, operational efficiency, and technical excellence within Libya's oil and gas sector. Camco stated that this milestone reinforces its dedication to supporting the National Oil Corporation (NOC) and its affiliated operating companies by providing advanced technologies, technical expertise, and reliable execution for the sustainable development of Libya's energy resources.
