Cameroon: PCRN evaluates presidential election performance, looks ahead to 2027 polls

Cameroon's Cameroonian Party for National Reconciliation (PCRN) is undertaking a comprehensive evaluation of its performance in the 2025 presidential election, with an eye toward the upcoming municipal and legislative elections scheduled for early 2027. The party's national president, Cabral Libii, who secured third place in the presidential race, has initiated a process to assess the party's results at the communal level.

Libii has instructed the national president's offices of the communal committees to convene meetings. These gatherings will include members of the national steering committee, coordination bureaus of constituencies, and other key officials. The primary objective is to meticulously review the party's standing in the presidential election within each commune.

Participants in these meetings are tasked with producing detailed documents. These reports will outline the presidential election results, provide explanations for the PCRN candidate's percentage of votes, and detail the measures implemented by the party since the presidential election. This internal review is crucial for identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement as the PCRN gears up for the next electoral cycle.
