Cameroon's Bac ESG 2026 shows 42.14% pass rate, down from last year

Cameroon's Baccalauréat de l'enseignement secondaire général (Bac ESG) 2026 session recorded a national pass rate of 42.14%. This figure represents a decline compared to the 2025 session's 47.45% success rate, though it is higher than the 37.26% achieved in 2024.

Out of 131,628 registered candidates, 130,772 took the exam, and 55,108 were declared successful. Among the admitted students, 30,750 are girls and 24,358 are boys. The results also indicate a significant number of mentions, with 43,638 passing, 9,372 receiving "assez-bien" (fairly good), 1,792 achieving "bien" (good), 304 earning "très bien" (very good), and two students obtaining the highest "excellente" (excellent) mention.

The Southwest region achieved the highest pass rate at 54.26%, followed by the Littoral region at 49.41%. Other regions followed, with the North at 28.73% and the Far North region at the bottom with 26.27%. The Office du Baccalauréat du Cameroun organized the exams.
