Campaign supports adoption of senior pets, offering customized food

A campaign focused on increasing adoption rates for senior shelter animals has successfully concluded, offering support to both pets and their new families.

The initiative, a collaboration between Hills Pet Nutrition Korea and the adoption platform Point Hand, aimed to draw public attention to senior pets. These animals, typically aged seven and above, face lower adoption rates due to concerns about the costs and challenges associated with managing age-related health issues. The program sought to alleviate the financial and psychological burdens on adopting families and ensure the pets could transition smoothly into their new homes.

Under the slogan "If you love them, fill them with vitality with Hills," Hills Pet Nutrition Korea provided tailored nutritional solutions for aging pets. The goal was to support the pets' health and well-being, allowing them to maintain a healthy daily life with their guardians.

Four families who adopted pets aged seven or older after January of this year were selected to participate. These families will receive six months of complimentary "Hills Science Diet" food, specifically formulated for senior animals. One recipient expressed gratitude, stating the food support felt like a perfectly timed birthday gift, as they didn't know their pet's exact birthdate.

Hills Korea emphasized that aging in pets is not just a cause for worry but a manageable condition. They hope the campaign will improve perceptions of adopting senior animals and that the selected pets will enjoy healthy lives with their owners through proper nutritional management.
