Canada makes history, routs Qatar for first World Cup victory

Canada achieved a historic milestone on Thursday, securing its first-ever victory in a World Cup with a resounding 6-0 defeat of nine-man Qatar in Vancouver. The dominant performance, witnessed by a vibrant home crowd at BC Place, marked a significant turnaround for the Canadian team, which entered the match with a 0-6-1 record in previous World Cup appearances.

Jonathan David led the charge with a hat trick, becoming the second player from the CONCACAF region to score three goals in a single World Cup match. His first goal came in the 29th minute, followed by another just before halftime, and he capped off the scoring with Canada's sixth goal in stoppage time.
