CANAL+ Secures Exclusive UEFA Club Competition Rights for Sub-Saharan Africa Through 2031

CANAL+ has secured exclusive broadcast rights for all UEFA men's club competitions across Sub-Saharan Africa through 2031. This new four-season agreement, beginning with the 2027/28 campaign, will ensure SuperSport continues to air the UEFA Champions, Europa, and Conference Leagues live to DStv and GOtv subscribers.

The deal covers more than 40 countries in the region. In English- and Portuguese-speaking Africa, SuperSport remains the exclusive broadcaster of these UEFA club competitions. For French-speaking Africa, the agreement restores full UEFA Champions League coverage on CANAL+ Sport channels, alongside the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League.

This rights deal further bolsters CANAL+'s already strong sports offering. The company also holds rights to major football competitions like the Premier League, LALIGA EA SPORTS, Ligue 1, the Betway Premiership, and the ongoing TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026. Football fans across Sub-Saharan Africa can anticipate continued live coverage of Europe's premier club competitions on SuperSport when the new rights cycle commences in 2027.
