Canary Islands Parliament honors Moroccan Consul Fatiha El Kamouri

Fatiha El Kamouri has concluded her tenure as the Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco in the Canary Islands, receiving official recognition for her diplomatic and institutional work.

Astrid Pérez, President of the Canary Islands Parliament, welcomed El Kamouri to mark the end of her term. During the official reception, Pérez presented El Kamouri with a commemorative gift, acknowledging her contributions to fostering relations and cooperation between Morocco and the Canary Islands. Pérez expressed gratitude for El Kamouri's work, highlighting the importance of dialogue and collaboration between their institutions and wishing her success in her future endeavors.

El Kamouri, who hails from the Moroccan Sahara, arrived in the Canary Islands in 2022. Prior to this posting, she served as the Consul of Morocco in Bilbao for six years. Her diplomatic career has equipped her with extensive experience in institutional relations and serving the Moroccan community in Spain.

During her time in the Canary Islands, El Kamouri played a role in strengthening communication channels between Moroccan and Canary Islands economic and institutional stakeholders. She also supported initiatives that promoted trust and cooperation between Morocco and Spain, aligning with the positive momentum in bilateral relations.

Her tenure also saw her highlight development projects in Morocco's southern provinces, showcasing the investment model in the Moroccan Sahara. Additionally, she was involved in supporting the Moroccan diaspora and providing consular services.
