Cannabis: Mary Jane celebrates anniversary with major trade fair in Berlin

Berlin is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Mary Jane cannabis trade fair, a significant event in the industry that runs from Thursday to Sunday. Organizers anticipate a large turnout, expecting approximately 75,000 guests to attend the multifaceted event held at the Berlin Messegelände.

The Mary Jane fair is designed as a hybrid of a trade show, a professional conference, and a festival. Around 700 exhibitors are showcasing a wide range of products related to cannabis. Concurrently, the event features lectures and discussions covering crucial topics such as legalization, medical applications of cannabis, and measures for youth protection. This provides a platform for industry professionals and the public to engage with the latest trends and developments.

Attendees can explore new industry trends and interact with representatives from various companies. The festival aspect includes a program with musical performances by artists like Sido and Marteria. Notably, former world boxing champion Mike Tyson is also scheduled to attend, adding a high-profile draw to the event.

Strict rules are in place for visitors: entry is restricted to individuals aged 18 and above, with no exceptions even for minors accompanied by adults. A smoking ban is enforced within the exhibition halls, and consumption is permitted only in designated outdoor areas. Reflecting the event's focus, "Cannabis first" is the guiding principle, meaning alcohol is entirely prohibited throughout the grounds to ensure the spotlight remains solely on the hemp plant. Thursday is designated as a trade visitor day, with the fair opening to all other visitors on the subsequent days.
