Cape Lefkada: Greece's cursed cliff where lovers met their end

Cape Lefkada, located at the southernmost tip of the Ionian island of Lefkada, is a dramatic natural landmark renowned for its towering white cliffs that plunge into the sea. The most famous tale recounts the tragic leap of the ancient Greek poetess Sappho from the cliffs. According to legend, she chose this dramatic end after being rejected by Phaon, a sea god, leading the spot to be known as "Sappho's Leap."
