Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha to arrive in Chile Thursday after visa delay

Cape Verde's World Cup standout goalkeeper, Josimar José Évora Dias, widely known as Vozinha, is set to finally arrive in Chile on Thursday, confirmed Colo Colo president Aníbal Mosa. The 40-year-old player's arrival in Santiago was initially scheduled for Tuesday but was postponed due to delays in obtaining his visa.

Mosa explained that Vozinha had to attend a consulate in Lisbon on Wednesday to secure the necessary visa for entry into Chile, as travel agencies in Cape Verde require this document before issuing tickets. The goalkeeper is expected to travel from Madrid to Santiago, arriving around 8:00 PM local time.

Vozinha, who was named in the World Cup's best XI based on fan votes, has reportedly reached an advanced agreement on his contract with Colo Colo. Mosa indicated that all contract details were finalized over the weekend. While he prefers not to disclose specific financial terms, Mosa revealed the deal is for six months with an option to extend for another 12 months in 2027. Vozinha joins the club as a free agent after his contract with Portuguese second-division side Chaves concluded.
