Car bursts into flames while driving in Taoyuan; occupants escape unharmed

A vehicle fire occurred late Tuesday night on Jinling Road Section 5 in Pingzhen District, Taoyuan City. The incident involved a sedan that began emitting smoke while in motion.

The driver promptly stopped the car on the roadside as smoke billowed from the vehicle. Within moments, the car was engulfed in flames. Fortunately, all occupants had safely exited the vehicle before the fire spread.

Firefighters responded swiftly to the scene, deploying 17 personnel and seven fire trucks. They managed to extinguish the blaze in approximately 10 minutes. The car was severely damaged, appearing almost completely burned out.

Initial estimates place the property damage at around 50,000 New Taiwan dollars. The fire occurred during a period of heavy traffic, and witnesses described the intense heat radiating from the burning vehicle as other cars passed by. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the fire department's arson investigation unit.
