Car Crashes After Chase on E17 in Waregem, Occupants Arrested

A high-speed police chase on the E17 highway in Waregem, Belgium, ended dramatically when a Volkswagen with French license plates crashed and overturned. The pursuit began yesterday evening when traffic police targeted the vehicle. The driver, traveling at excessive speed, took the exit toward De Vlecht around 7 p.m. but lost control. The car veered off the embankment and collided with another Volkswagen traveling from Anzegem. While the second vehicle sustained significant damage, its two occupants suffered only minor injuries. The impact caused the fleeing Volkswagen to flip onto its roof, landing in the median of De Vlecht. Despite the spectacular nature of the crash, the occupants of the overturned vehicle immediately exited the wreckage and attempted to escape on foot. However, their flight was short-lived as the local Mira police force apprehended them a short time later. The reasons for their flight and the number of occupants remain unclear as the police continue their investigation into the incident.
